The PGA of Australia Launches PGA Travel

PGA Travel was recently launched by PGA Australia with the objective of becoming the primary source of golf related travel services in Australia, both domestically and internationally. Initially operating under the established Teed Up Golf Tours, PGA Travel will offer ‘stay and play’ travel packages exclusive for the PGA Tour of Australasia tournaments.

PGA of Australia CEO Brian Thorburn said, “Each year, golf related travel impressively injects over $400 million into the Australian golf and tourism industries.”

“Through PGA Travel, the PGA will aim to grow and leverage this opportunity for the benefit of the Australian industry, at the same time generating a new income stream to support our Membership and grow the game of golf,” he added.

Bede Hendren, the Managing Director of Teed Up Golf Tours said, “PGA Travel is the only golf travel company with exclusive access to the PGA Tour of Australasia’s tournaments, and with the support of the PGA, we will be able to deliver exciting, never before seen experiences to golf fans everywhere.”

PGA Travel is also expected to contribute in enhancing the interstate and overseas visits to tournaments hosted by the PGA Tour of Australasia which in turn will generate funds for more golf activities while promoting Australia as a golf travel destination.
