Who’s Who in the Turkish Airlines World Golf Final

Turkish Airlines World Golf FinalsAfter defeating Webb Simpson with a score of 62 in the final group match, Justin Rose is heading to meet Tiger Woods in the last four rounds of the Turkish Airlines World Golf Final.

The third day of the event closed with Rose winning three of the three rounds with a nine-under defeating Simpson with a four-under while Lee Westwood at seven-under won over Hunter Mahan with two-under. Matt Kuchar at six-under lost to Charl Schwartzel who recorded eight-under.

Rory McIlroy also lost to Woods with an unbelievable score of one-under against seven-under. While Rose meets Woods, Westwood will go against Schwartzel in the tour’s semi-final round.

McIlroy, after suffering from previous two consecutive losses, had less chances of qualifying early on. He had difficulty catching up with Woods, gave not so good shots until the 16th and 17th holes which he both birdied and got him under par. His score of 70 was not enough to beat Woods’ seven-under 64. The event was held at Belek’s par 71 PGA Sultan Course, in Turkey.

Woods, who is currently world number two, admitted that he could have played better. This was after making seven birdies-without bogeys in 64. He said, “It felt good today. I really hit it good. I missed quite a few putts out there too which is interesting; it could have been a really low number.”

“The greens are soft from the rain we had yesterday and the greens are perfectly smooth. If the ball’s plugging, you can take dead aim,” Woods added.
