Rose and Westwood Topped the Turkish Airlines World Golf Finals

Turkish Airlines World Golf FinalsAfter his recent victory defeating Matt Kuchar at the Ryder Cup, Lee Westwood kept his momentum up high as he completed a breathtaking round of 61 at the Sultan Course, winning six shots ahead against former US Masters champion Charl Schwartzel in the Turkish Airlines World Golf Finals.

The event recorded incredible scores with world number one Rory McIlroy over par among the rest of the world’s cream of golf. Eight other golf professionals completed the front nine of golfers with combined -29 shots and will make up the final match.

The game didn’t start favorably for Westwood. He shot an eagle 3 at par-5 in the third hole followed by two bogeys 6 at par-4 on the next hole. The 6th to the 14th holes favored Westwood and gave him a run of -7 putting him on an advantageous spot with the South African Schwartzel. Westwood closed the round with a total of 61 garnered from birdying 3 at the final hole and finishing with nines of 31 and 30. Westwood goes to the final round where Justin Rose is already waiting.
