Branden Grace Increases Lead to Five Shots

The second round of the Dunhill Links Championship closed with Branden Grace scoring at 5-under 67 leading the rest of his competitors by five shots.

Grace gave credit to Louis Oosthuizen who spent time with him during a practice round that led him to improve his game until 17 under. Oosthuizen is a British Open winner and also a native of South Africa like Grace.

Grace shared, “Louis gave me some lines off the tee which was very helpful, especially with the wind off the left. The first six holes are not the easiest driving holes out there. Having Zach (Rasego), who caddied for Louis when he won the Open, also helped.”

The event was held at the Old Course where Oosthuizen had already competed and won the oldest major tournament in 2010. Grace shot four straight birdies until the mid-round adding up to the 60 he recorded at the tournament’s opening day which was held at Kingsbarns.

Grace stirred up the European Tour early this year when he emerged as champion in three events on the first few months of the year. Though he had struggles after which, he came back to Scotland after winning the Vodacom Origins of Golf Final in the Sunshine Tour held at Fancount, South Africa.
